Learn all about me.

Hi, my name is Locke Spencer. I was born and raised in Southern Alberta and have lived in Lethbridge for over 20 years. I've also lived in Vauxhall, Edmonton, Bow Island, Stirling, Ottawa, and Calgary, as well as Oxford and Cardiff, UK. I have completed a BSc in Engineering Physics (U of Alberta 2003), an MSc in Physics (U of Lethbridge 2005), and a PhD in Earth, Space, and Physical Science (U of Lethbridge 2009). I am a member of APEGA, CASCA, OSA, SPIE, and the IAU. I am an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in the Physics and Astronomy Dept. of the University of Lethbridge.

I enjoy spending time in my community including participation in a community choir, my church congregation, and spending time with my family. I love the outdoors and am an avid cyclist; you can see me biking to work every month of the year.
